In the quiet, high-precision world of medical diagnostics, a revolution is occurring not in the scalpel, but in the light. Imagine a surgeon needing to see beyond the surface of a tissue, deep into the cellular structure, without making a single incision. This is where Multi-photon Microscopy and advanced Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) come into play. However, the challenge has always been the rotation: how do you deliver high-powered laser light into a spinning probe without losing the delicate data?

Our latest Hybrid Fiber Optic-Electric Slip Ring was born to solve this puzzle. Unlike standard telecommunication components that operate at 1310nm or 1550nm, this device is engineered for the 1700nm wavelength. Why does this matter? Science tells us that at 1700nm, light encounters the “sweet spot” of biological tissue—scattering is minimized, and penetration is maximized. It allows clinicians to “see” deeper and faster than ever before.

To handle the high-intensity lasers required for these deep-tissue scans, we moved away from fragile standard fibers. Instead, we utilized Large-core 200/220μm fiber. This robust pipeline can withstand significantly higher optical power without degradation. But power is nothing without precision. Our engineering team achieved an insertion loss of ≤1dB, with a stability variation of just 0.5dB during high-speed rotation.

Speaking of rotation, the hollow-shaft design is a marvel of miniaturization. Even at speeds of 3,000 RPM, the unit remains stable, simultaneously transmitting two channels of 70MHz DC signals. This ensures that while the light explores the depths of the body, the electrical data controlling the device remains crystal clear. We aren’t just selling a component; we are providing the “eye” for the next generation of medical miracles.
